Sprocket designs need to be optimized to withstand the torque and impact bike riding can inflict on them, yet have relief cutouts to reduce weight and give a unique look. They are designed to be manufactured by CNC or stamping process out of 6061 or 7075 Aluminum. Some sprockets are designed with an integrated guard for an extra level of protection.
